Resource Box is a large collection of museum objects, models replicas and natural
history specimens. Most of the original objects date from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries but
we have some archaeological material and replica items from the Tudor period to 18th centuries. We
also have models of historic buildings, ships and people.
Resource Box also includes objects from different parts of the world and different
cultures, and a collection of studio ceramics and modern glass.
There is a large collection of birds in the natural history section and some mammals
– all animals have died of natural causes, and no animal has been hunted or killed for use in this collection.
Natural history specimens are widely used by schools, art groups and environmental groups.
