Conservation Section - Heritage servicesThe Conservation Section is responsible for the physical state of the collections of objects which Leicestershire County Council cares for. This involves making sure that the condition of objects is known, that we make sure that the environment in which objects are stored and displayed is best suited to protect those objects. Remedial conservation, which involves repairing objects, can be done by the conservation section or can be commissioned from external conservation practitioners. This care of objects enhances the access to objects for display and by members of the public.
The conservation section also provides advice throughout the services to other museums in the county and to members of the public on caring for objects and getting work done on them.
