About the Environment and Heritage Resources Centre
- Over the years the Holly Hayes Environment and Heritage Resources Centre
has collected a unique databank of information on plants, animals and the habitats where they are found
in Leicestershire and Rutland. Holly Hayes is the definitive home for wildlife records locally and is
a flagship Local Records Centre. The Centre acts as a Wildlife Information Service and runs a range
of wildlife and countryside surveys. The Centre's staff work with local communities and receive valuable
information from local recorders. The Centre is the base for the Community Heritage Initiative
team. Staff at Holly Hayes can also help with access to natural history collections.
- Access for wheelchairs is partially available, as a ramp to the house is in place. Assistance
may be required for some areas of the ground floor, and the upper floors are not accessible. There are
toilets and limited on-site parking.
- Information about the Environmental Information Regulations.
- Holly Hayes is also a base of the Open Museum, the outreach section of Heritage Services.
Find out here how you can borrow museum objects, works of art and ready-made displays
from the Open Museum.
