School Visits - Bringing the Past to Life

Life in Tudor Times

Availability: Various dates, throughout the year.
Spend the day at Donington le Heath Manor House and travel back to the year 1587.

Standard Visit

Activities
Meet costumed characters in role as Tudor servants and help them in their duties:
  • Help the servant with the formal task of laying the table for their rich master and mistress
  • Prepare herbal remedies with the help of the Housekeeper
  • Make pomander bags in the Tudor Kitchen to take home
Learn more about the lives of rich and poor people in Tudor times by taking part in activities such as:
  • Writing with quill pens
  • Dressing up in Tudor costume
  • Playing with Tudor toys
  • Exploring the Manor House with our Tudor quests

Up to 42 pupils per day
(Up to 80 pupils per day when with a Combined Visit to Bosworth Battlefield)
Cost £5 per pupil (adults free)

Plus, join one of our characters in some fun dances as enjoyed by everyday folk in Tudor times.
