of Donington le Heath Manor House
What do we do?
The Friends organisation for Donington exists to:
- to keep its members in touch with developments at Donington and around Leicestershire
County museums.
- to support the museum's further development through fundraising.
- to help with events and guided tours.
- to help research the history of the building and its locality.
What
have we done so far?
The Friends have:
- Provided money for plants to extend the period garden's collection.
- Given valuable help at the museum's monthly events.
- Raised funds for a seventeenth century style sundial to be installed in the period gardens
in spring 2003.
- Bought and made sets of medieval and seventeenth century costume for visitors to the museum
to try on.
- Helped to promote the Manor House throughout the local community.
- Have raised £10,000 towards the Donington Improvements Project
What
would I get as a member of the Friends of Donington?
Members of the Friends:
- Are invited to previews of exhibitions with talks on related topics.
- Have regular social evenings with guest speakers.
- Receive a regular quarterly newsletter detailing events at the Manor House and other relevant
news.
