Big Knitting Workshops
Every Thursday afternoon 12.30 - 2.30pm from 15 January to 12 February. Free

Join in with the Big Knitting Project run in conjunction with Charnwood Arts. The sessions are open to everyone: old and young, experienced knitters and new starters. Experienced knitters will be on hand to teach the skills needed. No need to book for this activity - just drop in on the day and take part. Refreshments provided.

Russell Society Branch AGM followed by ‘The Starkholmes Big Hole (Riber mine)’  
16 January, 8.00pm. Free

Starkholmes is on the hillside below Riber Castle, overlooking Matlock Bath. John Jones will discuss the evidence for mining in the area, which was one of the main activities in the Matlock district and can be traced back to Medieval times, and highlight activities and finds from the Riber mine. Russell Society lecture series.
Holocaust Memorial Day Commemorative Ceremony
27 January, 12.30pm

Official opening of the Holocaust exhibition “The Boys” at Charnwood Museum 12.30pm, followed at 1.00pm by a short memorial service in Queen’s Park and laying of stones on the Holocaust Memorial Stone
