Leicestershire Armed Forces Memorial Commission

A new memorial is to be created to honour local men and women who have lost their lives in service in the armed forces around the world since 1945.

The tribute will provide a place of contemplation, reflection and respect for the public. It is hoped the sculpture, which will be unveiled at County Hall next year, will become a central point for commemoration across the county.

In an extensive selection process five artists were commissioned to prepare design proposals for the memorial project. The winning design can be seen here.
