Reading Groups

There are around 80 reading groups which subscribe to the Leicestershire Libraries reading groups catalogue, Reading Circles, which features about 200 titles, all of which are available to borrow in sets of 10.  The list is mainly fiction, but there is also poetry, travel writing, history and biography.  Groups select 6 titles a year, and receive their set of books from their local library.

The Reading Circles Booklist catalogue is updated with new titles every December, so you can get a good idea of reading groups might be reading.
Try our Book Suggestions page for helping choosing a book.
Suggested reading: S. Osborne - Bloomsbury Essential Guide for Reading Groups.  It includes advice on getting started, planning your meetings, what to read and discussion topics

The Books Connect Reading Pack

East Midlands Libraries have produced a useful pack for reading groups.  The pack gives suggestions on how to organise and run a reading group, and ideas for how your group can operate.  You can print one at your local library, or download the files here.
