![]() Quality in Study SupportLeicestershire Library Services has achieved a national recognition award from Quality in Study Support (QiSS).
QiSS awards a quality standard at three levels - emerged, established and advanced - to study support providers, including schools, libraries and other organisations. Leicestershire Library Services is the first library authority in the country to be recognised at established level for the whole service.
Study support is defined as out-of-school-hours learning and, all across the county, Leicestershire’s libraries provide a wide range of free study support provision to all children and young people.
Harvey Adams, QiSS consultant and Chair of the recognition meeting scrutineer panel said, "The panel was impressed by the Library Service's careful planning, clear purposes and well co-ordinated provision of a wide variety of activities at libraries across the county."
Ernie White, Lead Member for Community Services said, "Achieving this award is excellent recognition for the quality service provided by libraries for children and young people. This is backed up by the fact that 89% of children gave their Leicestershire library the highest satisfaction rating in the most recent Children’s Public Library User Survey. This is one of the highest scores in the country.”
