Poets and songwriters, limericks and lyrics, nursery rhymes, power ballads and humorous verse.  Find them all in the library.

National Year of Reading - July - Rhythm and RhymeJoin us in celebrating all kinds of reading in all kinds of places and be a part of the National Year of Reading.
We want as many people as possible to participate - celebrate reading for pleasure, getting that feel-good factor, being positive about reading, making people smile.
From April to December every month will have a theme so look out for lots of reading activities - simply click below or ask at your local library.

National Year of Reading

July :This month we are celebrating words that rhyme, words with a beat, words that make you move or that move your soul.
  • Join us  for the launch of Mark Goodwin's latest poetry collection 'Else' at Loughborough library on 7 July at 7.00pm.
  • Try our Poetry Workshops at Oadby Library, a relaxed introduction to creative writing.
    Adult workshop on 10 July, 7.00 - 9.00pm & for 12 - 16 year olds on 24 July, 6.00 - 8.00pm. Contact the library to book a free place.
  • Be prepared to make a noise and move to the rhythm at Wriggly Readers' events this month.
  • Look out for biographies, poetry anthologies, learn how to play, write and dance.  There are books, CDs & DVD's to suit all tastes.
  • Join the Team Read challenge.
