Crime Festival 10th to 15th November 2008

![]() Celebrate Crime Fiction Old & NewThe second week of November 2008 is dedicated to crime fiction at Coalville library.
To celebrate crime fiction we will be giving you the chance to vote for your favourite crime author throughout October and be entered into a prize draw. The winner of the prize draw and the winning novellist will be announced at the Sam Hayes author event on Saturday 15th November 2008. Voting form (Word doc). Print out and take to Coalville Library
Visit Coalville library and take a look at our crime fiction display. Be inspired to revisit a favourite crime novel or try a book that is completely different. During our crime festival we will be holding three events for you to enjoy for free. Find out more about popular crime writing both old and new.

Sample interactive play (Word doc)
Join us to discover 'whodunnit'. This interactive play will invite the audience to deduce the culprit of a dastardly crime. The potential culprits will give their evidence and then it's up to the audience to decide over refreshments what happened on the fatal evening. Those who deduce correctly will be entered into a raffle.
Thursday 13th November 2008
3-4pm
Reader Development Librarian John Martin will give a talk about the life and works of Agatha Christie. This is your chance to discover everything that you wanted to know about the 'Queen of Crime'. There will be time to chat and have refreshments with John and ask any questions you may have about the famous crime author. A large collection of Agatha Chrisite novels will be provided for you to borrow so you can make sure you didn't miss any essential Christie moments.

Sam Hayes latest novel is 'Unspoken'. Her books are tense thrillers which have kept many library users awake long after their bedtime! Sam Hayes will visit the library to talk about her book and her life as a crime author. Copies of the books will be for sale and Sam will be happy to sign them.
