Newbold Verdon is to get a new Library...
What’s happened so far?- In October 2007 Leicestershire Libraries were awarded £781,402.00 by the Big Lottery Fund to build a new library and community facility
- In December 2007 we invited the community to attend 3 meetings at the library
- The community created a wish list which fed into the architect’s plans
- Young people have been encouraged to use their own ideas to design a Library
- In February 2008 flyers were sent to every household in the village to invite the community to the ‘Funday’
- We held a ‘Funday’ event in February 2008 for all ages in the library, which was attended by 170 visitors from all age groups
- Visitors gave feedback on the plans, which were amended as a result
