Tithe: a modern tale of faerie
by Holly Black
What is it about?  It is about a girl named Kaye who lives with her mum in New York until her mum's boyfriend starts acting strangely. So they move to New Jersey, where Kaye used to see faeries. It turns out Kaye is actually a changeling, (a faerie that was swapped at a young age with a human) and is stuck in the middle of and evil plot.
Why did you like it?  It was dark, menacing, and a completly differnt spin on faeries. The kind usually told in folklore.

This book is slightly large and a complicated read but it is very enjoyable, and a good read.
