Sundae Girl by Cathy Cassidy Shortlisted for the Leicestershire Children's Book Prize
|
What is the book about?: Sundae Girl is about a girl called Jude who goes to a convent school called St. Joseph's. Jude is in year 8 and she doesn't have that many friends, until she finds that there's a boy called Cooper who really likes her. Unfortunately he always wears rollar blades and he is terrible! Why did you like it?: It was an amazing book because it was totally insane... not exactly an every day family! How many people can say that their mum is an alcoholic and their dad is an Elvis impersonater? I enjoyed it so much because it's different to all the other books I read in the way that I haven't ever seen somebody dressed as Elvis as a job! I prefer it to all the other books where a girl isn't happy with the way she looks or how much she weighs. It's really individual and totally fab! Thanks, Cathy, for the super read! Who would you recommend it to?: I would reccomend this book to anybody who wants a different read! Anna (12) gave this book 3/09
