...What the Judges saidWhilst being a tough read this story offers a sensitive portrayal of what it’s like be in care and is incredibly touching. The author balances black humour, farce and emotional truth – a real achievement. The plot is well constructed and full of suspense that keeps you reading.
What Leicestershire said...This really kept me hooked. The story had quite a bizarre base but the issues dealt with kept everything grounded.
This would be enjoyed by teenagers and adults who want a book that keeps them wanting more. Katie gave it
Beast is a great book which I really enjoyed reading. It can be quite grown up in places, but all round is a good read. The languages was a little colourful in places but that didn't stop me enjoying it!
I would recommend it to young people aged 11-12+
