- Bookstart - working with Health Visitors, we aim to ensure all babies get a ‘Bookstart Bag’ containing FREE baby books and information for parents and carers.
- Book Crawl for 0-4s – baby joiners collect stickers each time they visit the library. In return you receive a beautifully illustrated certificate to keep as a memento of your child’s development – there are 5 certificates to collect.
- Wriggly Readers - fun sessions with storytelling, songs and rhymes for under 4s and their parents/carers.
Joining your child to the library is easy!
- Just call into any County library with some identification (showing your name and address or your joiner’s form signed by your Health Visitor) to your nearest library and baby/toddler can borrow up to 12 books straight away.
- all new joiners get a free, colourful library pack full of helpful information about your library which includes a free voucher for a week’s loan of DVD.
Don’t worry if…
- your baby chews a book – we won’t make a fuss
- your baby makes a noise in the library – libraries are no longer “silent”!
- if you return books late – there’s nothing to pay for children under 11.
