You'll find information on archaeological, architectural and maritime sites, pictures (where available), links to maps, aerial photographs and other websites which might interest you.
University of Leicester Archaeological Services website includes detailed case studies of archaeological sites in Leicestershire including Vine Street, Leicester Abbey and many more.
The Megalithic Portal website attempts to list in depth all of the prehistoric sites in Britain and Ireland. Later sites of pre-Norman crosses, brochs, Pictish stone slabs as well as sacred springs and holy wells are also included. The website is built by and for ordinary citizens who are interested in history and archaeology.
