Planning an Archaeological Project
An
Institue For Archaeologists training day was held on 20 November 2010 at the University of Leicester,
and funded by the South East Leicestershire Treasure project. Dr. Birgitta Hoffmann, Honorary Research
Fellow at Liverpool University, delivered the training entitled, ‘How to run your own archaeological
project’. This provided good practical advice on all aspects of the work involved in planning any sort
of fieldwork. The training provided examples of best practice, from initial research and who to contact.
The training also covered funding, equipment, health and safety and all the other processes that lead
to the final deposition of records into the appropriate archives.
