Leicestershire Fieldworkers has, since 1976, undertaken active archaeological fieldwork throughout Leicestershire. The Fieldworkers hold regular lecture meetings, have a newsletter and website and issue publications. Training courses in fieldwalking and pottery identification are held and individuals and groups often carry out investigations within their locality or parish.
Anyone interested in the archaeology of Leicestershire is welcome to join. Not all members are active in the field but support the fieldworkers with their membership. To find out more and to download a membership form please visit the Leicestershire Fieldworkers website.
The Fieldworkers also supports the work of archaeologists in both the City and County Museums Services, including the events programme at Jewry Wall Museum and Donington le Heath Manor House.
