Geologists

Geologists have been studying the UK rocks and structures for over 200 years.  Many active local geologists are members of the local societies.
The Geology Section of the Leicester Literary and Philosophical Society has an interest in geology of the county and its surroundings.  It publishes, holds meetings and organises excursions inside and outside Leicestershire.  The society can be contacted at this LLPSGG website.
The East Midlands Geological Society which has organised and reported on much work in the two counties.
