Guide for Uniform Youth Agencies

If you are a member or leader of a uniformed youth group, the ideas and activities outlined in this section will provide information on how to link your groups' activities to natural history and the environment.
A surprising number of activities can be linked to the environment and heritage.  From the youngest rainbow guide to the oldest explorer guide, learning about, recording and celebrating wildlife can become part of your groups' regular programme. There are suggestions specifically related to Brownies, Scouts and Guide association badges. This is not a definitive list, but can be a useful starting point.
Young people are heritage guardians of the future.  The ideas here will help you to help them conserve what is theirs, learn about themselves and their local environment and gain respect for their natural history and heritage.
