Wild about...

Wild aboutimageThe Wild About… pack has guidance on how to make field survey equipment for nature studies, start nature diaries and a number of themed wildlife detective investigations including: Birds; Trees; Spiders; Woodlice; Butterflies; Bats; Ladybirds; Frogs; Hares and Rabbits; Grasslands; and Plants. This information has been collated by the Community Heritage Initiative.
These files are pdf documents, and are quite large so may take some time to open . If you have problems with this file format help is available here.
The pack suggests recording and celebrating wildlife creatively, such as in poetry, and encourages families to send in records to the Holly Hayes Environment and Heritage Resources Centre. Each investigation also has actions that can be taken at home to encourage and safeguard wildlife.
Any youth group is welcome to use this resource to foster an interest in our conservation guardians of the future. As a courtesy, please send us an email to let us know you have used material - and let us know what you think of it!

Produced by the Community Heritage Initiative, which was supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Rutland County Council
