The Fields of LeicestershireJohn Lacey, Mowsley Heritage Warden

John Lacey, Mowsley Heritage Group and Heritage Warden described the studies he had undertaken in his home parish of Mowsley.  He showed ways of identifying old field boundaries and other features, and also explained how some names and characteristics could be misleading.

Rothley Heritage Open Day 2006

Marion Vincent, Rothley Heritage Warden , Terry Shepperd, local historian and Brian Verity,  Archaeology  Warden explained how a partnership of the Parish Archaeology Warden, Heritage Warden and Village History Group attracted over 800 visitors to Rothley as part of the Civic Trust's Heritage Open Day.

Ruth Fenney, of Leicestershire and Rutland Federation of Womens Institutes explained  about the 2007 common wild flower survey and the wider countryside recording project developed within the two counties.
