The cover of the Culture, Sport and Active Living Report

Culture Sport and Active Living

Culture, sport and active leisure has both a material and a value dimension  and includes a wide range of activities, including  arts, media, sports, parks, museums, libraries,  the built heritage, the countryside, playgrounds and tourism.

Purpose

This document highlights how culture and sport can play a unique role as a delivery vehicle for a number of partnership aspirations and cross-cutting projects. Its purpose is to present evidence to this effect and, wherever possible, to quantify outcomes in a manner which can be referred to, and quoted from.
Examples are given under six operational areas
  • Healthier Communities
  • Older People
  • Children and Young People
  • Safer and Stronger Communities
  • Cleaner and Greener Communities
  • Economic Development and Enterprise
Each section indicates the key outcomes as they relate to the LAA requirements and describes the significance of the various projects in relation to relevant national and regional strategies which underpin much of the work being carried out in Leicestershire.
The Appendix gives contact details of individuals referred to in the document,  the key partnerships and stakeholders,  and lists websites relevant to the projects.
