Departmental Changes

On the 1st of February 2010 there were some changes to the County Council Departments.
The main change is that the services provided by the Community Services Department will be managed by the departments shown below. This has meant that the names of the Adult Social Care and Highways Transportation & Waste Management departments have changed to reflect the new services they provide.

Adults and Communities

Services already provided by Adults and Communities include: home care, protecting adults, carers support, rehabilitation, care homes, supported housing, and community meals.

Chief Executives Department

The Chief Executives Department covers democracy, councillors, council meetings, youth justice, community safety, public relations, and more.

Environment and Transport

Environment and Transport also covers construction and maintenance of roads, parking, road safety, recycling campaigns, recycling/waste sites, public transport and more.

Community Services Service Plans

These documents will continue to be relevant until the services are fully integrated into the new departments.
