Leicestershire Funding Toolkit

The County Council has supported Leicestershire Together to develop the Leicestershire Funding Toolkit. This is a free one-stop website for voluntary and community sector funding information and advice.  The site includes a searchable database of over 4000 funding streams.

Business

Creative Leicestershire Development Bursaries Grants to develop arts, design and media microbusinesses with 3 staff or less. Creative Leicestershire

Community

Grant Description Further Information
Communities Together Grants Grants of up to £500 for voluntary and community organisations / projects which play an active role in bringing different community groups together.     
FLAG Community Buildings Grants FLAG Community Buildings Grants can provide funding towards refurbishment, access and energy efficiency projects at village halls, religious buildings and community centres in areas of Leicestershire affected by aggregate extraction.     
Historic Buildings Grants Historical Buildings Grants are for assistance and specialist technical advice for essential repairs or the restoration of original architectural features to certain historic buildings and structures. Historic Buildings
Stepping Stones Grants Grants are awarded for parish/town councils, community groups and schools wishing to carry out environmental improvement schemes Stepping Stones
Voluntary Youth Grants Voluntary Youth Grants were last year given to approximately 100 youth groups, including guides, scouts, clubs for young people and voluntary village youth clubs.    
Village Hall Grants Village Hall Grants are for works to extend, refurbish or carry out major improvements and repairs to existing village halls or to create new halls e.g. church halls that act as community centres may also be eligible for a grant.    

Education & Childcare

Educational Maintenance Grant (EMA) EMA's are for 16-18 year old students to help them carry on learning. Student Finance
Playscheme Funding Playscheme funding offers financial help for Playschemes to be run in Leicestershire to provide safe and inclusive care for children through out the summer holidays. Early Learning and Childcare Service
Playbuilder Grants Capital funding for new play areas aimed at 8-13 year olds.This programme is open to any not-for-profit organisation wishing to develop a new or substantially refurbished play area. Early Learning and Childcare Service
Post 16 Access Fund This funding enables eligible students who live in Leicestershire to stay on in education post 16 years of age. Student Finance
Special educational needs funding (SEN) - Integrated Playscheme Funding Funding is available for playscheme providers to support the integration of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities into mainstream playschemes. Early Learning and Childcare Service
Special educational needs funding (SEN) - Specialist Equipment Grant Childcare providers may apply (with the agreement of the area Senco) for funding to help employ an additional member of staff for extra support. Early Learning and Childcare Service
Young People - Sir Andrew Martin Trust Young people and voluntary youth organisations may apply for modest grants (£100 - £1000). Applicants need to live or operate in Leicester, Leicestershire and/or Rutland. Sir Andrew Martin Trust for Young People
