Leicestershire will be inclusive of the views of disabled children, young people and their families through participation and consultation groups which will feed into the Aiming High Implementation Group.

There will be partnership working across all agencies, from universal to specialist services, to build upon current good practice and provision, to map future transformation of short break services. Good, transparent commissioning will provide choice and flexibility to increase opportunities for disabled children and young people, countywide and the expansion of workforce will be essential to this development.

Leicestershire will be pro-active in seeking the views of a diverse population to promote their equality of opportunity in being involved within this process. Short break services will be delivered within the principles of the Children’s Strategy and Every Child Matters.
