Children and FamiliesThis area of the website provides information for families and children and is made
up of the following sections Every Child Matters, Education,
Social Care, Activities and Events.
The links here are mostly relevant for children up to the age of twelve, information
for older children can be found in the 4 Youth section.
"Every Child Matters: Change for Children" is the name for a big project
across England. This project is all about making sure children and young people can have a good life,
whoever they are, and no matter what problems they face. The aim is to make everyone aware of the things
children and young people need to help them to be happy, successful, healthy and safe.

We provide, encourage and assist with high quality education for children, young
people and adults in Leicestershire. Here you can find out about schools, teachers and staff, educational
plans and resources, childcare, transport, or any other aspect of education in Leicestershire.

We provide social care and support for all residents in Leicestershire. Under Social
Care you can find out about, help and support for children and young people, child protection, caring
for others, disabilities, fostering and adoption. Leicestershire County Council is also involved in
‘Bridges’. Bridges aims to help children, young people and families to get advice and support. It also
aims to help schools, the health service, youth workers and others to work well together.
