Land ImprovementAction to reclaim and improve land and buildings in Leicestershire is set within the context of the County Council’s Derelict Land Strategy and Action Programme. The programme has been underway since 1974 and has brought extensive benefits in terms of environmental, social and economic improvements. Funding for the programme is obtained from a wide range of organisations including the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA), the Leicester Shire Economic Partnership (LSEP), the National Forest Company, Lottery funds, Landfill Tax, Aggregates Tax, other local authorities, private sector companies and County Council budgets.
