![]() The museum holds special events, family fun days and 'hands-on' workshops throughout
the year.
February 2010Treasure! Wednesday
17th February,1-3pm and 2-4pmThis event will be held in both the Market
Harborough Library and Museum. Stories and crafts with a treasure theme in
the Library. Sessions start in the library at 1pm and 2pm. Followed by activities
in the museum - see what you can dig up! 5-12 years who must be accompanied

27th February 11am-1pm and 2-4pm Drop in sessions with Praecones Britanniae.
Listen to the haunting music of the 1st century AD and meet some Roman musicians. Admission

20th March 11am-1pm and 2-4pm Drop in and speak to an Iron Age craftsman

5th April -Wednesday 30th June An exhibition featuring traditional and
unusual arts and crafts produced locally. Admission to the exhibition is Hidden Talents - Live! Saturday
10th April - Saturday 29th May, 11am-1pm every SaturdayDrop in and see
local craftsmen at work from
spinning, carving, painting and jewellery making to embroidery and bookmaking. Some

31st May 11am - 4pm Help make a Celtic giant for the town's carnival

yourself in an Iron Age roundhouse and step back 2000 years to discover what life was like for a Celtic
tribe. Visit our Roman camp and meet Roman soldiers recently arrived following
the invasion of Britain in AD 43. Make a real Celtic coin to take home to

26th July - Saturday 31st July, 10.30am - 4.15pm Drop-in to the Museum
and see what's going on for the Festival of British Archaeology. Includes activities
ranging from archaeology themed arts and crafts to Celtic tribes people and Roman soldiers with tales
