About Enable
Environmental Action for a Better Leicestershire (ENABLE) is a countywide forum for the protection and enhancement of the environment. ENABLE's mission is "To unite Leicestershire for the protection and enhancement of the environment". In order to reach its vision, the partnership aims to:Enable logo
  • influence others and provide leadership
  • investigate environment issues relevant to the County
  • create, enable and promote action
  • prioritise, set goals and monitor progress
The full partnership now consists of almost 150 members including organisations, businesses and individuals that have a passion for the environment. A Steering Group has been established to help guide the work of the partnership and the Secretariat, which is based in the Environmental Action Team in Leicestershire County Council. The Chair of ENABLE is Cllr Ruth Camamile, Cabinet Support Member to Cllr Ernie White and the Vice Chair is Sue Quinlan, Area Planning and Corporate Services Manager with the Environment Agency
ENABLE has been invited to take a seat at the Leicestershire Local Strategic Partnership Board, known as "Leicestershire Together" which is responsible for overseeing the production of the Community Strategy for the County and for helping to improve services to the public.
