How to access the eBook Service
- Log on to the eBooks download site.
- Log in with a valid library card number and PIN.
- eBooks are downloaded from an secure external website operated by our book supplier.
- eBooks cannot be downloaded from library computers due to downloading restrictions.
- If you are not a library member join here
- If you have lost or don't have a PIN please contact your local library
Features of the eBook Service
- Free - download three eBooks for up to 21 days.
- A wide range of titles for children and adults.
- No overdue charges -eBooks automatically expire at the end of loan period.
- Titles can be reserved free of charge.
- New titles will be added on a regular basis.
- Download direct to your home computer, Apple Mac, iPhone, ipad, ipod, Android devices and eBook Readers* such as Kobo, Sony iSlate.
- Using your library card and PIN you will login into a secure eBook website to select and download eBooks. This service will only be available from your home PC. It will not be available in your local library.
*Our eBook Service is not compatible with Amazon Kindle due to Amazon's policy.
Who can borrow eBooks?
- Any member of Leicestershire Library Services - adults and children with a valid library card and PIN.
Loan period
- eBooks can be borrowed for any number of days from one day to three weeks.
- Loans automatically expire at the end of the loan period.
- eBooks cannot be returned early or renewed.
Library staff cannot advise customers on technical aspects of the eBook Service, ie downloading to eBook devices. See our eBooks questions page for details of the services and technical requirements.
