Country Parks News
Refreshments at Country Parks this summer
From Easter Sunday (20th), refreshment stalls will be at three country parks every Sunday and bank holiday Monday. The Coffee Express returns to Beacon HIll's lower car park selling high quality hot drinks and homemade cakes. At Watermead North and Market Bosworth Country Parks, Picks Organic will sell locally sourced organic hot dogs and burgers. Each stall will be at the parks from 10am til 4pm.
Brand new children's play area opened at Beacon Hill Country Park
Visitors to Beacon Hill can now enjoy a new play area located near to the lower car park. The four play pieces have been supplied by Timberplay who specialise in natural wooden play equipment.
Interspersed with the play pieces are three new wooden carvings made by Peter Leadbeater, Beacon Hill's resident carver. The rabbit, toad and mole represent British wildlife that can be seen within the park boundaries.
Children from St Paul's primary school in Woodhouse Eaves joined Country Parks staff and Councillor David Snartt to officially open the play area in April 2014.
Market Bosworth Country Park play area closed temporarily
The play area at Market Bosworth Country Park is currently closed due to improvement works being carried out. We hope to be able to re-open the play area soon. In the meantime, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your patience.

Conservation volunteering is a great way to get involved with your local country park.
If you would like to help our rangers carry out practical conservation tasks whilst keeping fit, meeting people, learning new skills as well as developing your knowledge of the countryside and how we try to improve our parks for visitors and wildlife, then please contact us.
New volunteers are always welcome to come along and join in with us, but please get in touch to let us know in advance. No previous experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and a desire to get involved.
