The Leicestershire Children's Book Prize

Leicestershire Library Services’ first - ever Children’s Book Prize has been won by......

Children's Book Prize
You're a bad man Mr Gum
Over 1,300 children from across Leicestershire voted online, in libraries and in Borders Books for their favourite book for 10-13 year olds.  
Runners up were:
  • 2nd Michael Morpurgo – Born to Run
  • 3rd Jacqueline Wilson – Jacky Daydream
  • 4th Andrew Cope – Spy Dog
Weaver’s Close Primary Church of England Primary School in Earl Shilton was the winner from a prize draw of schools that had actively supported the Children’s Book Prize.
The school has won £200 pounds worth of books from the prize sponsor, Borders.
All the books from the Children's Book Prize are available in your local library and can be requested for free.
