The museum is based in a Medieval Manor House dating back to 1280. The house has a fascinating history and is now restored with fine oak furnishings. Visitors to the house can now see restored rooms and displays on medieval life as well as a series of temporary exhibitions on a wide range of subjects. The house is set in recently recreated 17th century style gardens with flower gardens, an orchard, herb gardens and a maze. There is a unique selection of gifts and books to purchase from the museum shop located inside the Manor House. Events are all year round with various permanent exhibitions, a virtual tour and interactive displays.
There is currently no tea provision at The Manor House, although hot and cold drinks are available from the friends of Donington on event days. We are working towards a new tea room opening for the Summer. Apologies for the inconvenience.
